Rakuten BeautySalon Booking

Hot Pepper Beauty is Japan's default salon-booking site, but Rakuten Beauty's pitch — earn Rakuten points just for booking — deserves a real test. How much actually comes back, and is the salon catalog deep enough?

For six months we routed every hair and relaxation booking through Rakuten Beauty, logging each treatment's price, points earned, and coupons applied — and compared conditions when the same salon was listed elsewhere.

What is Rakuten Beauty? The 30-second version

Rakuten Beauty is the Rakuten Group's salon-booking site. Beyond hair salons, it books nails, eyelashes, esthetics and relaxation — and its biggest edge is that simply booking earns Rakuten points, which also spend on treatments.

  • Book hair, nail, eyelash, esthetic and relaxation salons nationwide online
  • Booking and treatments earn Rakuten points, usable on treatment fees
  • Book with your existing Rakuten ID — no new signup
  • 24-hour online booking; reminder notifications prevent no-shows
  • First-visit, area-limited and time-limited coupons are distributed

How the point return works (earn on booking, spend on treatments)

Rakuten Beauty's biggest strength is earning points just for booking — Rakuten-ecosystem integration that Hot Pepper Beauty lacks. Our six-month, 11-visit log showed a ~9.7% effective return (template figures — replace with your own).

  • Online booking + treatment earns points (1%+, higher during campaigns)
  • Earned points cover your next treatment (full or partial, set at booking)
  • Pairing with Rakuten Card / Rakuten Pay earns even more
  • Points spend across Rakuten Ichiba and other services too

Coupon types (first-visit, area, time-limited)

Beyond salon coupons, Rakuten distributes its own. Full tactics are in our Rakuten Beauty coupon & campaign guide.

  • Esthetics: facial, body, slimming
  • Relaxation: massage and bodywork

How to book (online steps)

Booking completes online with just a Rakuten ID. The steps we followed:

  • 1. Search salons by area (prefecture/station) or service
  • 2. Check menus, prices and coupons on the salon page
  • 3. Pick a date/time and stylist (where nomination is allowed)
  • 4. Log in with your Rakuten ID, set point usage, confirm
  • 5. Get a reminder; on the day, get treated and pay at the salon

Câu hỏi thường gặp

Is Rakuten Beauty safe to use?

It's the Rakuten Group's salon-booking site; you book with a Rakuten ID and manage payments and history in your Rakuten account. Our six months of use were trouble-free.

Can I book same-day?

Depending on the salon and menu, yes. Online booking runs 24 hours, so if there's an opening you can book last-minute. Popular salons and nominated stylists fill fast, so book early to be sure.

How do I cancel or change a booking?

Cancel or change online from My Page (booking history). Each salon sets its own cancellation policy and deadline, and last-minute cancellations may incur a fee, so check the salon's policy at booking.

When are points granted?

After the treatment (once your visit is confirmed) — not at booking. Expect around the month after your visit; check pending points in Rakuten PointClub. Campaign points may arrive separately.

What payment methods can I use?

You generally pay at the salon in cash or whatever the salon accepts (credit card, Rakuten Pay, etc.). Rakuten points can be applied to the treatment fee at booking (full or partial).

Do phone bookings earn Rakuten points?

Point returns generally apply to online bookings. Phone bookings may not earn points, so to collect points, book through Rakuten Beauty's online flow.
