Rakuten GORA is the Rakuten Group's golf-course booking service — one of Japan's largest, with 2,000+ courses filterable by date, area and price, earning Rakuten points both at booking and on the day you play.

We booked several rounds ourselves and tested how points accrue, the same-day barcode check-in, and the solo-booking feature, plus the effective-price gap against GDO and Jalan Golf. Here's whether it's the pick for golfers in the Rakuten ecosystem.

The booking flow: phone-only

The flow we actually followed — search to confirmation entirely in the app (or web), no phone call.

  • 1. Pick date and area (filter by prefecture or distance from you)
  • 2. Narrow by price, tee time and plan (lunch included, etc.)
  • 3. Choose a course and plan, enter the number of players
  • 4. Log in with your Rakuten ID and pick payment (Rakuten Card recommended)
  • 5. Confirm. On the day, show the web barcode at reception to check in

Solo booking solves 'I want to play but can't fill a group.' We booked solo ourselves. (Experience details are TEMPLATE values — replace with your own.)
